Announcement

The LGBT society provides support for its members in the form of a regular "drop in" service, where you can talk confidentially with someone about any matter that may trouble you.
Support

If anybody knows of any good leaflets they feel would be helpful to our members please send us an e-mail. There is also a section of links to relevant sites in our links section but remember all committee members are here to help you. If you want to speak to a committee member confidentially please see our Committee on Call page

Coming out

MESMAC have a great section on coming out for young people, click here to see it. If you want any further help or advice from a committee member click on the "Committee on Call" link above.

Safer Sex

"MESMAC is a gay and bisexual men's community support service with offices in Newcastle and Middlesbrough, but we cover the whole of North East England. We work with gay and bisexual men to increase the range of choices open to them." Click on the topic below to get some advice (even if you think you don't need it).

Careers

Applying for an internship or graduate job? Want to know how well the company treats their gay employees? Then check out Stonewall's Starting Out recruitment guide, freshly updated for 2010 with more well-known companies than ever before.

The online version can be found here, but if you'd rather consult a hard copy then speak to the LGBT Officer.

MCC Church

MCC Newcastle is a church created for and run by LGBT people of faith. We meet very close to your campus, at St. James URC church, every Sunday at 6.30pm. We are affirming and friendly. It can be very confusing to be LGBT and Christian, especially arriving at uni for the first time (I know, I've been there!) so a friendly face and an alternative to the mainstream of Christianity can be really refeshing.

Have a look at our website www.mccnewcastle.org.uk, or you can find us on facebook if you search for "MCC Newcastle UK."

You can also get in touch be emailing us on  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

We have several student members already, and would love more!
